For any educator moving into the 21st Century of Learning realm they must have an understanding of Web 2.0. With the ever-changing tools available to us on the web today it is difficult to keep track of the ones that are beneficial for you as an educator. Here are some of the Web 2.0 tools that I have used in the past that I have found to be a great addition to my classroom.

According to the online site Webopedia Web 2.0 is the term given to describe a second generation of the World Wide Web that is focused on the ability for people to collaborate and share information online. With 21st Century Learning now our main focus the confines of a four wall classroom no longer exists. Classroom walls today are limitless. Students and teachers can collaborate on projects with individuals from all around the world. Web 2.0 tools will help students and educators collaborate and ensure the process of learning will be a joint endeavor.

Google Docs is a suite of products that lets you create different kinds of online documents, work on them in real time with other people, and store your documents and your other files -- all online

A woderful site for creating media rich posters which can be shared online or embeded into web pages, wikis and blogs.

A web 2.0 application similar to powerpoint that allows the user to zoom in and out and around providing a visually entertaining and affective presentation.

I have used this site with my students and they love creating their own comic strips.

Designed for K-12 teachers who want to provide each student with an individual blog. Teachers have full control of the blogging site and what content is used and who has access. Have been using this site for the past two years.

I very popular site to store, search, sort, and share photos.

The ability to make calls online and with a camera video conferencing is a welcome addition to the classroom.
